National Diasporas

"National Diasporas" is a structure of the NetGalaxy Foundation within which a national diaspora may be established for any nationality in order to organise the Foundation’s work with the citizens of the respective country, regardless of where in the world they live.

Within the NetGalaxy® project, the term "diaspora" has a broader meaning than in its traditional sense. It includes not only compatriots living outside their own country, but also those who live within it. In this way, the citizens of any country can participate jointly in the implementation of projects from the NetGalaxy® Projects package, regardless of whether they live in their home country or abroad.

Powers of the National Diasporas

Each national diaspora has the following powers:

• access to projects from the NetGalaxy® Projects package that have been approved for implementation;
• access to the Foundation’s regulatory, organisational and methodological documentation related to project implementation;
• administration of the Foundation’s register of community clubs belonging to the respective national diaspora;
• registration and removal of community clubs in its register in accordance with the rules of the Foundation;
• coordination of the interaction between the Foundation and the community clubs registered in its register;
• representation of the Foundation before government institutions, international organisations and local authorities through its official representatives.

Main Functions

The main functions of the national diasporas are:

• organising communication between the Foundation and the community clubs included in their registers;
• supporting the establishment and development of new community clubs;
• providing organisational and methodological assistance to the clubs;
• providing information concerning the project’s documentation, standards and rules;
• facilitating interaction between community clubs and the other structures of the project;
• supporting the development of the project in the countries where the clubs of the respective national diaspora operate.

Role of the National Diasporas

The national diasporas represent the NetGalaxy Foundation before the respective national communities. They organise the Foundation’s work with the community clubs within their systems, support their development and assist in the application of the common organisational, methodological and technological standards of the project.

Through the national diasporas, the NetGalaxy Foundation preserves the unity of the NetGalaxy® project and creates conditions for the citizens of every country to participate actively in its development in their national language, regardless of where in the world they live.
